According to wine journalist and Wine With Chas founder Chasity Cooper, different Thanksgiving wines complement different components of the meal, so if you're partial to red or white, then you're in luck.
Cooper says sparkling wines — such as Cava and Crémant — pair well with appetizers and salads, thanks to "their high acidity, along with citrus and toast notes." After your starters, a white wine "with flavors of citrus" like Chenin Blanc, Borgogne, or Pinot Gris best complements your side dishes. With the star of the show, the turkey, you'll want to go with a red like Beaujolais, Cabernet Franc, or Zinfandel, and to close out the night, nothing beats a glass of port.
