These 13 Egg Flight Recipes Convinced Me To Hop On The Viral TikTok Trend
If you’ve been on TikTok recently, you’ll know that egg flights are having a moment. The new version of “girl dinner” (IYKYK), egg flights are the easier take on deviled eggs. Instead of scooping out the yolks and mixing them with mayo and mustard, you add your toppings directly on top of the hard-boiled (or jammy soft-boiled!) eggs. Served as an appetizer or light dinner, these "flights" might be one of the most ingenious trends I've seen yet. Still not sold? Wait 'til you hear about the toppings. 👀
The trend was first started by @hipfoodiemom1 on TikTokTok, whose video now has 1.5 million views. Scroll through the #eggflight on TikTok, and you'll find countless people experimenting with their favorite egg flight toppings and combinations. When it comes to the toppings, these flights go way beyond your classic deviled eggs. If you scroll on TikTok you’ll find people topping these eggs with just about anything you can imagine. Steak, BLT-inspired toppings, lox….you think of it, it’s been on an egg flight.
To make them, all you need to do is boil your eggs to your desired doneness, cool and peel, then pile on your toppings. My top tip? Don’t overload them, or you’ll risk a messy platter. To give you some inspo for your own appetizer or light dinner spread, I compiled a list of topping ideas. From my favorite variations on deviled eggs to how to make the best garnishes (looking at you, cowboy candy and homemade kimchi), these recipes will give you the ideas you need to hop on this viral trend. Use one—or a combination—of these ideas to make your own creative flight.

Kimchi
Kimchi is a broad name for a type of Korean banchan—or, side dish—that is served alongside most meals in Korea. In fact, it is probably more accurate to refer to kimchi as a method of fermenting and preserving vegetables. This version features Napa cabbage and daikon radish, two ingredients commonly found in kimchi in US and International supermarkets.

If you want to skip making the topping, simply top with blue cheese and a drizzle of hot sauce.
