2024 Grammys: Killer Mike Wins Best Rap Album, Song, and Performance

Killer Mike swept his three nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The Atlanta rapper won Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers.” He also won Best Rap Album for Michael. Killer Mike had won only one Grammy Award before tonight: Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group, in 2003, for the Outkast collaboration “The Whole World.”

Following Killer Mike’s Grammys sweep, he was arrested at Crypto.com Arena and booked for misdemeanor battery. After the incident, he posted on X, “Thank God. 🏆🙏🏾🏆🙏🏾🏆🙏🏾 🧹 🧹 🧹.” The rapper

Sharing in Killer Mike’s Best Rap Performance victory are featured artists André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane. He also shares Best Rap Song with co-writer André 3000, as well as Paul Beauregard, James Blake, Tim Moore, and Dion Wilson.

Before tonight, André 3000 most recently won a Grammy in 2020 for a song with Anderson .Paak called “Come Home.” Future won Best Melodic Rap Performance at the Grammys last year for “Wait for U.” He earned his first Grammy back in 2019 for “King’s Dead.” Eryn Allen Kane is a first-time Grammy nominee and victor.

Killer Mike won Best Rap Album over Travis Scott, Metro Boomin, Nas, and Drake and 21 Savage. On X, Scott posted, “🤨,” without additional context.

Drake, on his Instagram stories, wrote, “All you incredible artists remember this show isn’t the facts it’s just the opinion of a group of people who’s name are kept a secret 🤫😂 (literally you can google it) congrats to anybody winning anything for hip hop but this show doesn’t dictate shit in our world.”

Drake is in Tampa tonight to perform at Amalie Arena with Best Melodic Rap Performance winner J. Cole. Travis Scott is in Los Angeles to perform at the Grammys.

The Run the Jewels rapper has also revealed that Jagged Edge, D4L’s Fabo, James Blake, Mozzy, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz, and more also contributed to his new solo album, *Michael*
