Walking out of the salon fresh from a blowout can be a huge confidence booster. How can you not feel great with gorgeous, silky hair? But the hefty price tag makes it a special-occasion-only event...unless you could achieve the same sleek look at home. Now, in just three steps, you can. Photo by Thinkstock

Lather Up

Dirt, oil and product buildup can weigh hair down and cause it to fall flat, so use a good clarifying shampoo designed for your hair type to ensure your locks are squeaky-clean. Afterward, towel-dry, leaving your hair slightly wet.

Prep With Product

Apply a blow-dry lotion to damp hair from mid-shaft to ends. These products build volume and protect  strands from the heat of your dryer. Run the dryer over your entire head until your hair is 50% dry.

Divide and Conquer

Segment hair into three sections, one in front and two in back. Then, further divide these sections into three smaller ones. Starting in back, run a round brush through each section from root to end as you blow-dry it straight.
