3-year-old Princess Charlotte must follow this royal rule
She may have mastered the art of the royal wave, but Princess Charlotte has a lot to learn before she can rub elbows with the senior members of the royal family.
Despite being one of the youngest members of the royal family, the 3-year-old princess still has to follow royal protocol. This means she isn’t allowed to sit at the dinner table with her parents during royal visits until she’s learned the “art of polite conversation.”
While she’ll be in good company with her brothers Princes George and Louis (once he has the strength to support his own head), Charlotte must suffer through dinner at the kids’ table until she’s ready to mind her Ps and Qs during royal engagements.

Aside from eating in separate quarters, tiny royals are required to learn more than one language. Earlier this year, People magazine reported that the young princess is already learning Spanish with the help of her nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion.
It could be worse for Princess Charlotte. She could be like her brothers and have to wear shorts for the first eight years of her life. As per tradition, male members of the aristocracy and royal family wear shorts and high socks instead of pants which they attribute to the working class.
This rule was broken however, when Prince George wore pants to the royal wedding of his uncle Prince Harry to Meghan Markle last month.
