With the awards handed out, the after parties over and the after-after parties drawing to a close, it’s time to declare the best and worst dressed star from the Oscar red carpet!

We asked Yahoo Canada readers to weigh in on looks from the 91st Academy Awards red carpet and as always, they delivered.

With 47 per cent of the votes, Lady Gaga‘s Audrey Hepburn-inspired gown by Alexander McQueen was far and away the favourite look of the night. The “A Star is Born” actress oozed Old Hollywood glamour as arrived on the red carpet, sporting over 128 carats worth of diamonds worth a reported $30 million. The necklace, aptly called the “Tiffany diamond” was first featured in posters for the 1961 film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and features the largest yellow diamond in the world.

“The chance to work with such an amazing piece of design and history tonight is a creative dream come true,” Gaga’s stylists Sandra Amador and Tom Eerebout told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. “There are so many beautiful jewels in the world, but the radiant Tiffany Diamond … is truly exceptional, which is just so fitting for Lady Gaga.”

Following far behind in second place, with 17 per cent of the vote was Helen Mirren‘s cheerful Schiaparelli gown. The pink and coral design was an eye-catching combination that possessed the same level of elegance Mirren has become known for.

While some stars went heavy on the glamour, others opted to take fashion risks on the red carpet, and more often than not, those risks fell flat.

Thirty-three per cent of readers chose actress Rachel Weisz‘s two-piece gown by Givenchy as the worst red carpet look of the night. “The Favourite” star’s latex look confused fans, with one Oscar viewer going so far as to call it a “travesty of a dress.”

In second place, with 25 per cent of votes for worst dressed was “Green Book” actress Linda Cardellini. Prior to celebrating her win for Best Picture, the actress arrived on the red carpet wearing an over-the-top bright pink creation by Schiaparelli. The high fashion look over-powered the actress, who got lost in layers of ruffles and her bouffant hairstyle.

Viewers were quick to compare the look to everything from a loofah to a costume fitting for a Vegas showgirl. Whatever the motivation was behind this look, it had people talking but for all the wrong reasons.
