Over the past six months, restaurant chains have had to make modifications to their menus as a result of shortages and a decline in overall sales. However, there are also some chains that have remained strong during the pandemic, or have recovered enough to offer epic deals on a few of your favorite foods.
Here are five restaurant chains that are offering major discounts on some of their most popular menu items right now. And after, read up on the 9 Restaurant Chains That Closed Hundreds of Locations This Summer.
Pizza Hut: Large Original Pan Pizza
Pizza chains are one of the few national restaurant chains that have done exceedingly well over the past couple of months, thanks to a surge in digital orders. Right now, for instance, you can order a large size of Pizza Hut's Original Pan Pizza with your choice of up to three toppings for $10.99—down from $18. IHOP: IHOPPY Hour
Happy hour just took on a whole new meaning with IHOP's IHOPPY Hour. From 2 pm-10 pm every day, diners can choose from a menu of $5 entrees, $3 Snacks&Sides, and $1-$1.50 beverages. Discounted meals include The Classic Steakburger, Italian Cannoli Pancakes, and Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich (among other popular options). At the same time, Mozza Sticks, French Fries&Onion Rings Sampler, and well as French Toast will also be offered for just $3 each.
Outback Steakhouse: Bloomin' Onion
In early September, Outback Steakhouse knocked the price down of the classic Bloomin' Onion to $7.99, down from $9.49 (or $10.99, depending on the location). In addition, the chain added a new category on the menu called, Steak 'N Mate Combos, each of which starts at $17.99.
Papa John's: Shaq-a-Roni Pizza
Did you know you could order Papa John's Shaq-a-Roni Pizza for just $12? The extra-large pizza is topped with extra cheese and extra pepperoni but costs less than one of the medium-size pizzas under the Handcrafted Specialties category on the menu.
Qdoba: Burrito Meal Deal
The Burrito Meal Deal is actually a permanent addition to the menu. However, it was just introduced in April, so in case you didn't hear about it then (aka, during the height of the pandemic), now you can be in the know. With this combo, you get a burrito, tortilla chips, salsa, and a dessert for $9.95. Currently, you can choose from four different burrito options: chicken, fajita veggie, steak, and the Impossible burrito.
