60-year-old Michelle Pfeiffer turns heads in plunging metallic jumpsuit

Michelle Pfeiffer knows how to rule a red carpet.

The 60-year-old actress stunned on the red carpet in a chic metallic jumpsuit by Saint Laurent at the premiere of her film “Ant-Man and the Wasp.”

The actress has wowed audiences for almost 40 years, and has managed to both age gracefully and consistently land roles in an industry that tends to look unkindly at women past a particular age.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” stars Pfeiffer, alongside Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas, in the most recent offering from the massively popular Marvel universe franchise.

Although the actress famously played Catwoman in 1992’s “Batman Returns,” Pfeiffer says she was hesitant to join the superhero franchise.

“My first exposure to Marvel would have been Spider-Man and then Iron Man, both of which I really loved,” Pfeiffer revealed. “I guess I discovered Marvel through my children. Then I saw Ant-Man, and I really loved it. At first I thought, Ant-Man? I was not familiar with the superhero Ant-Man. But the sound of it I was a little skeptical, but I really was pleasantly surprised.”

Pfeiffer was ultimately drawn to the role thanks to actor Paul Rudd, who plays the title character. The two actors previously worked together in 2007 on the film “I Could Never Be Your Woman.”

“I’ve always been such a Paul Rudd fan, and the movie was really smart and funny and also grounded in reality in a way that it had this very unusual tone to it that I think set it apart from a lot of the other superhero movies that I had seen,” Pfeiffer explained

Pfeiffer plays Janet van Dyne, the mother of Hope Van Dyne, also known as The Wasp, played by Evangeline Lilly.

The film is set as a prequel to “Avengers: Infinity War,” and there are rumblings that Pfeiffer may appear in the upcoming (and still currently untitled) fourth instillation of “Avengers.”

“Ant-Man and The Wasp” hits theatres July 6.
