When you wear mascara regularly, it can become the priority and override the need of a lash serum. After all, lash treatments take a while to work, and mascara is instant gratification. Plus, who really wants to add another step to their beauty routine?
A mascara infused with a growth serum is a hidden-in-plain-sight solution. You get the va va voom volume, length, and drama of a mascara while also conditioning and depositing treatment onto your lashes to encourage future growth.
As obvious of an answer as it seems, lash growth mascaras are not plentiful. And except for Rimmel's $7 mascara, these products mostly range from $20 to $48. While that initially struck me as being pricey, it is actually the economic choice. A lash serum can cost anywhere from $30 to $155, while a mascara has a wider price range from a few dollars to a hundred dollars. Lash growth maracas combine the two products without being astronomically priced.

Wander Beauty Upgraded Lashes Treatment Mascara
Shop now: $26; amazon.com
Wander Beauty's Upgraded Lashes Mascara is, to my knowledge, the most recent release and the one I am most acquainted with. Its formula includes copper peptides to strengthen lashes and increase their growth cycle. It goes on super silky to moisturize the lashes and does not flake at all. It's been an easy product to incorporate into my daily routine, even on days when I'm not otherwise wearing makeup.
BareMinerals Strength and Length Serum-Infused Mascara

After hearing glowing reviews from other beauty editors, I also began using BareMinerals' Strength and Length Mascara. Hailey Bieber is the face of the line, but she also recently told InStyle that she doesn't leave the house without applying it. This mascara also uses a peptide complex to lengthen and condition lashes. I'm a fan of the super-rich, dark color the mascara deposits, as well the way it effortlessly curls my lashes.

Velour's serum-infused mascara similarly relies on peptides as well as biotin, a type of vitamin B complex that thickens hair. A reviewer who referred to herself as "a tenny natural eyelash girl" wrote, "I didn't need as many coats as I usually do to make my eyelashes look voluminous, and after about two months of wearing it, I really started seeing a difference in length." Other fans of the product mentioned denser lashes and less lash fallout.
By Terry Terrybly Growth Booster Mascara
Shop now: $48; amazon.com
This lengthening treatment mascara features skincare-heavy hitters such as hyaluronic acid and collagen. The mascara also comes in four colors, whereas other similar products are usually only in black. One reviewer shared that they started using this after noticing their lashes getting shorter. "It hasn't been too long since I started using this, but my lashes definitely seem to be growing longer and there are more/new lashes coming in," they said. Although the mascara is just under $50, multiple shoppers have said they are repeat buyers.
LashFood Ultra Rich Volumizing Mascara
Shop now: $20; amazon.com
As the brand name suggests, LashFood literally focuses on lash growth. Their serum-only products are beloved by shoppers with hundreds of positive reviews. This mascara is formulated with rice bran to stimulate length, volume, and fullness, plus the same patented phyto-medic complex that has made their original enhancing serum such a success.
Milk Makeup Kush High Volumizing Mascara
Shop now: $25; sephora.com
If you are skeptical about the whole idea of a treatment mascara — this is the one for you. It's a pretty standard $25 and has 4,000 five-star reviews on Sephora. The brand claims heart-shaped fibers and cannabis seed oil are behind the mascara's strengthening aspect. Happy shoppers highlight the clump-free, lightweight formula.
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara
Shop now: $7 (Originally $9); amazon.com
The most affordable product by a wide margin is Rimmel's Lash Accelerator Mascara — it's literally less than half the price of the others. This formula includes micro fibers for instant lengthening, in addition to hair-strengthening biotin and Procapil for long term results. An Amazon reviewer shared that although they experimented with a ton of mascaras, this one is it: "I have never found a mascara with such a smooth, thick consistency without flaking or clumping."
