Vivienne Westwood walked in her own fashion show, because she is a Dame of the British Empire, a counter culture legend, and 75 years old. (She’s also shagging the designer, her husband Andreas Kronthaler.) She wore a black flouncy dress with a plastic bag and a price tag in her hair; it was fabulous.

Among those who cheered her on were Rita Ora (“I’m obsessed with her because I’m obsessed with punk, and she basically made punk happen”) and Pamela Anderson, a longtime friend of the fellow fashion activist.

“We actually met because we were both petitioning for [political prisoner] Leonard Pelletier’s clemency,” Anderson told us before the show. “Then when she asked me to do a campaign with her, I did some research and read her manifesto [on saving the environment and human rights], and I was fascinated by it. We connected on so many things, from climate change to Julian Assange. She said to me, ‘I don’t need to draw you a map; you already get it.’ And now we talk almost every day.”

Anderson shot down speculation that she and her model/ musician son Dylan Jagger Lee would be doing a line together (“He wants to be separate from his mom. It’s a typical relationship—he does his own thing; he doesn’t think I’m very cool!”) but did share her favorite place in Paris: Sacré Coeur cathedral. “I try to visit every time I’m here,” she says of the famed church, which lies smack in the middle of the city’s unofficial red light district, “and whenever I go, I light a candle.”

What does she pray for?

“So many things!” Anderson laughed.

Incidentally, Ms. Ora’s fashion prayers were answered on the runway. While the collection lacked last season’s penis and vagina dresses (sorry, kids!) it did include one bright, fuzzy sweater with the word PUNK across the chest.
