From Town & Country

We're living in the era of the Hollywood remake, and the latest classic tale to be reimagined for the small screen is William Makepeace Thackeray's 1847 serial novel, Vanity Fair. Olivia Cooke stars in the miniseries, which tells the story of Becky Sharp, an orphan determined to improve her station in life-by any means necessary.

Here's what we know so far about the show:

It premieres on December 21 in the States.

While the series has already aired in the UK, it doesn't drop on this side of the pond until right before the holidays.

In addition to Olivia Cooke, the show stars Michael Palin, Tom Bateman, and Claudia Jessie.

Other actors involved include Frances de la Tour, Johnny Flynn, Charlie Rowe, and Martin Clunes.

The series will air on Amazon Prime.

If you already have a Prime subscription, later this month just head over to the show's page to watch. If you haven't signed up for Amazon's membership service, they offer a free, 30-day trial, which is enough time to try out the series. Or, Prime costs $12.99 a month, and gives you access to not only Vanity Fair, but also tons of other great programs like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Romanoffs, and A Very English Scandal.

Plus, you'll get free, two-day shipping on most Amazon orders and discounts at Whole Foods stores.

Come December 21, tune in at the link below:

The trailer previews many of Sharp's acquaintances revealing exactly what they think of her.

But it ends with Lady Matilda Crawley declaring gleefully, "Beware old London town, Miss Sharp is on her way."
