For the past 12 years, David Deutchman has spent two days a week doing a very important job: cuddling babies!

It all began in the early '00s, when Deutchman, retired from his career as a marketing executive, approached the staff at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and asked about volunteer opportunities. He started by teaching classes at the hospital's school for long-term patients, but it wasn't long before he found his true calling: supporting the families of babies forced to spend time in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units.

On a typical volunteer day, Deutchman, now 82, will cuddle and comfort babies and help their parents. His dedication to the gig and love for the patients have even earned him the nickname of "ICU Grandpa" - and, in some cases, "Baby Whisperer."

"My guy friends ask me what I do here," he said in a recent interview with the hospital. "And I tell them I hold babies. Sometimes I get puked on, I get peed on. It's great ... They just don't get it - the kind of reward you can get from holding a baby like this."

Consider our hearts fully melted.
