Alberta wildfires: Province braces for increased fire risk this week
In the decimated community of Lobstick, Alta., there is an eerie calm with fire having done its worst here, only leaving behind charred remains of homes. Those looking to rebuild will have to wait with more dangerous weather ahead. Despite light showers and a decrease in temperatures in parts of the province earlier in the week, Alberta’s wildfire situation remained volatile Friday as firefighters raced to contain the 81 active wildfires – 20 of which are considered out of control – across the province burning for the second week.
