Alice Evans has claimed that her estranged husband Ioan Gruffudd accused her of being “an alcoholic, completely unhinged and a terrible mother”.
The actor has been open about the breakdown of her marriage after revealing earlier this year that the couple were parting ways, tweeting that Gruffudd had announced he was leaving her.
Last week, Evans said on Lorraine that she found out about her husband’s new girlfriend on Instagram, calling it “cowardly”.
She has now shared a picture on Instagram which she says is of Gruffudd’s new partner, writing: “Look, I wouldn’t have minded if he’d come to me and said, 'Listen, I think I’ve fallen in love with somebody else’.
“But he didn’t.”
She went on: “For 2 years he told people on the set of the show he was doing that I was an alcoholic, completely unhinged and a terrible mother.
“This is so incorrect and so unkind.”
Addressing her fans, the 53-year-old said: “Please / I know I am driving you nuts with these constant updates but I am being made out to be the very thing I am not.
“I am the best mother and that is all I care about.”
Evans and Gruffudd met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 1999 and have two daughters together – Ella, 11, and Elsie, seven.
In January, Evans said in a now deleted tweet: “Sad news. My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week.
“Me and our young daughters girls are very confused and sad.
"We haven't been given a reason except that he 'no longer loves me'.
"I'm so sorry.”
Yahoo has contacted a representative for Gruffudd for comment.
