Today, Amazon introduces Fire TV Cube, its fastest and most powerful all-in-one streaming media player, for the first time in Canada. The new Alexa-enabled device features far-field voice control built directly into it so you can have the most comfortable, hands-free entertainment experience.

Just say “Alexa, turn on the TV,” to turn on your compatible TV and have access to thousands of movies, TV episodes from Netflix, Prime Video, Crave, YouTube and more. On top of that, you can also stream live news, sports and even have access to Facebook, Twitter and Reddit with browsers like Silk and Firefox.

“Fire TV Cube was the first hands-free streaming media player powered by Alexa, and since launching last year we have gathered a wealth of feedback from customers about how they use voice in the living room,” said Marc Whitten Vice President of Amazon Fire TV.

The Fire TV Cube features cutting edge far-field voice recognition with eight microphones and advanced technology that combines signals from the individual microphones to suppress noise, content currently playing, and even competing speech for Alexa to clearly hear and instantly respond to your request when placed right next to the TV and while you’re across the room. Made with an ultra-powerful hexa-core processor, Fire TV Cube also delivers a fast, fluid experience, with instant access to Dolby Vision and 4K Ultra HD content at up to 60 fps. Talk about your ultimate entertainment system.

And because Amazon’s Alexa service is always getting smarter with new features, device control capabilities, and hands-free voice functionality added regularly, Fire TV Cube is going to get even better over time.

“Over the past year, we have continued to expand and advance the Fire TV Cube experience based on this feedback with dozens of new features including Multi-Room Music, Follow-Up Mode, and Alexa Communications. These key learnings carried over and guided the development of the second-generation Fire TV Cube, and we are excited to introduce this new-and-improved experience to customers around the world,” says Whitten.

While the Fire TV Cube is available for pre-order today, it’ll ship with an IR extender cable and Ethernet adapter beginning on Oct. 10.

Amazon has also announced the launch of first-ever Nebula Soundbar, a Fire TV edition sound system designed to deliver complete home experience with superior sound and video streaming, which is also available for pre-order today.
