Life in plastic, it's fantastic--at least if you're Amy Schumer.

The world's highest paid female comedian is in talks to play the title role in Barbie, a live-action Sony Pictures film based on the popular Mattel toyline, Deadline reports. But before you question the casting of the actress--who's famous for her outspoken support of all woman and their different body types--know that the plotline features a major twist.

Schumer will star as a doll who lives amongst all of the various Barbie characters in Barbieland, but doesn't quite fit in. Due to the fact that she's a bit eccentric and not exactly perfect, she ends up getting kicked out and embarking on an adventure in the real world where she comes to realize that what's on the inside matters more than what's on the outside.
