As a red carpet veteran, Viola Davis can pretty much get away with anything at this point, including sneakers if she so pleases.
At Sunday’s 71st Primetime Emmy Awards, the Oscar-winning actress did just that when she surprised audiences everywhere by pairing her black and white Alberta Ferretti gown with a pair of $679 metallic platform sneakers.
Though she arrived on the purple carpet rocking a pair of heels as she posed alongside her husband Julius Tennon, she later appeared on stage to present the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in an entirely different look.
Backstage, the “How to Get Away With Murder” star swapped out her heels for a pair of comfortable sneakers, and fans were here for it.
If you’re after Viola’s chunky sneaker look you can still pick up her exact pair online, but they will set you back nearly $700.
Her $679 Hogan Metallic Platform Trainers are still in stock, but we’ve rounded up some more affordable options too.
