And Just Like That Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis were back on the red carpet for the premiere of the Sex and the City Reboot in New York on Wednesday.

The trio, who are reprising their roles for the forthcoming limited series, looked like they'd never been away from the spotlight as they joined their co-stars to celebrate the launch of the much-anticipated show.

Notably absent, however, was Kim Cattrall, 65, who played sex-obsessed Samantha in the show which originally ran from 1998–2004.

Cattrall previously made it clear she had moved on from the show, when plans for a third Sex and the City film were scrapped after she refused to sign up.

She explained at the time, in an interview with Piers Morgan, it was "an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another".

So it wasn't necessarily a surprise when she opted not to reprise her role for the SATC reboot and was not with the other cast members at last night's And Just Like That premiere.

Despite Cattrall's absence, the evening certainly wasn't lacking in glamour, with the trio all showcasing their ageless style and beauty.

Sarah Jessica Parker, 56, paid tribute to Carrie by choosing to wear one of her stylish character's favourite designers, Oscar de la Renta.

Delivering her own real life style moment the actor appeared to channel her on screen character in a bespoke evening dress and cape from the designer, Vogue reports.

The pale grey dress featured a strapless, sweetheart neckline and beaded embellishment throughout, but the stand-out element was the full tulle pink skirt, peeking out from beneath the layers.

Parker paired the outfit with a pair of coral pink stilettos from her SJP Collection and some statement jewellery.

The actor had the support of her family at the event, with husband Matthew Broderick and her eldest child, son James Wilkie Broderick holding her hands as they smiled for photos on the red carpet.

Cynthia Nixon, 55, brought a pop of colour in a tangerine Christopher John Rogers gown which she teamed with boots in a darker orange hue and a simple black clutch.

The button-down shirt-dress featured statement shoulders and a crisp wing collar.

Meanwhile, the actor, who plays Miranda in the show, upped the glamour with her make-up, with a smokey eye and neutral lipstick.

Kristin Davis, 56, oozed elegance and old Hollywood charm in a custom navy dress by Jason Woo.

The floor-skimming gown featured an off-the-shoulder neckline with ruffled detailing and was very much an outfit her character Charlotte would approve of.

She kept her hair down, in loose, old-Hollywood waves.

Watch: Get Ready for And Just Like That

Despite not taking part in And Just Like That, it appears Kim Cattrall's absence will be addressed on the show, with Kristin Davis revealing that Samatha's exclusion won't be ignored.

Asked about Cattrall's decision to opt out of the new series, Davis told the Today show: "We love Samantha. Samantha is never not going to be a part (of it) in some way, right?"

While she didn't reveal how Cattrall's absence would be addressed, she did confirm that it wouldn't be overlooked.

She added: "There is respect for Samantha... it's part of the story."

Parker announced on Instagram that And Just Like That would be coming to HBO Max, tagging her co-stars Davis and Nixon but not Cattrall, and later confirmed that Samantha would not be in the show.

Cattrall previously claimed that she was never friends with her Sex and the City co-stars.

"We've never been friends," she said in 2017. "We've been colleagues and in some ways it's a very healthy place to be because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal."

Both Jessica Parker and Davis have previously opened up about their frustration about criticism of the reprisal of the characters in the show's reboot.

Davis suggested that the show has been treated differently to movie remakes.

She explained: "People are like, ‘Why should they come back?’ and it really bugs me. Are women’s lives not interesting now? Nobody ever asks, ‘Why would you do this violent remake over and over again?’

"For me that is so indicative of our reluctance to sit and watch women’s lives develop over time," she said.

Meanwhile Sarah Jessica Parker recently hit back at critics who have made "ageist" comments about her and the other cast members of the Sex and The City reboot, expressing irritation that the ageing of the characters is even a conversation.

"There’s so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man," she told Vogue. "Grey hair, grey hair, grey hair. Does she have grey hair?' I’m sitting with Andy Cohen,” Parker continues, “and he has a full head of grey hair, and he’s exquisite. Why is it okay for him?"
