Another royal wedding is on the horizon! Princess Theodora of Greece may not be in line for the throne (the Greek monarchy was formally abolished in 1974), but she is next in line to tie the knot. The office of His Majesty King Constantine of Greece made the announcement over the weekend that the King and Queen Anne-Marie’s youngest daughter, Princess Theodora of Greece, is engaged to Los Angeles-based attorney, Matthew Kumar.
"Their Majesties King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie are delighted to announce the engagement of their youngest daughter Theodora to Mr. Matthew Kumar," read the formal announcement on the royal family's website.
The bride-to-be also took to Instagram to make an announcement of her own. "Words can’t express our happiness and excitement," she wrote alongside a photo of herself and her new fiancé. "I can’t wait to marry this wonderful man. I love you Matt."
The royal family has yet to release any public wedding plans. However, we wouldn't be surprised to see members of another royal family make the guest list: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was made the Greek Princess's godmother in 1983.The Greek royal family is also well acquainted with the British royal family through Prince Philip, who was born a Prince of Greece, as Town & Country points out.
While Princess Theodora is technically Greek royalty, she has spent most of her life living in other countries. The 35-year-old was raised in England, and later moved to the United States to attend Brown University, where she received a B.A. in Theater Arts. Later, the Princess moved to Los Angeles where she acted in the long-running soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, under the name "Theodora Greece."
If her big day is anything like those of her extended royal family's, we're sure it's going to be straight out of a fairytale.
