There's no question that the Kardashians have an outsized impact on American culture. But, surprisingly, the reality TV scions also served as a major inspiration for Bridgerton, the hit Shonda Rhimes Netflix show.

Nicola Coughlan, who plays a delightful Penelope Featherington (aka—spoiler alert—Lady Whistledown) on the show, recently posted about this hidden connection on Twitter. Though many of us watched Bridgerton in the winter, Kim Kardashian just started binging the show, and has made her affection for it quite public.

"As the world’s number one @bridgerton Stan does @KimKardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons and we talked about them all the time during our fittings? Because I feel like she should know this," Coughlan tweeted.

The Featheringtons, of course, included three somewhat misfit daughters and an overbearing mother determined for her children to hold court in high society. Needless to say that Coughlan's comparison checks out.

Kim Kardashian was thrilled about the comparison. "WHAT?!?! I am freaking out!!!!!! This tweet was sent to me on my @bridgerton group chat! Can I please come to a fitting?!?! It would make my whole life!!!!!! I love you Lady W!!!" she replied.

Coughlan also noted that the same corset maker who crafted Kardashian's Met Gala look also made Penelope Featherington's. "Omg yesss of course we would love to have you! Also did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton? You’ve been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know!" Coughlan wrote.

This revelation increased Kardashian's excitement. She replied, "OMG I’m gonna faint!!!!!! Does this make me an honorary Duchess in Bridgerton ?!?!?!? I am the corset Queen!!!"

Finally, Coughlan then bestowed upon Kim K the highest honor Lady Whistledown herself could offer: "Why of course, Duchess Kardashian of Calabasas! Lady Whistledown is happy to declare you the season’s true incomparable [diamond emoji]."

So, will Kim Kardashian follow Daphne Bridgerton as the next jewel of the season? It's unlikely, but certainly something Netflix would enjoy. The streamer even jokingly Tweeted about adding Kardashian to the cast.

While viewers probably will not get a Bridgerton/Kardashian crossover (krossover?), the reality star's obsession with the show is absolutely relatable. Luckily, season two (and an ensuing seasons three and four) are on the horizon.
