Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor: Royal baby is introduced to the world
After two days of waiting, the public have had their first glimpse of the newest royal addition - named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The baby boy was introduced to the world by his parents the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at St George's Hall, Windsor Castle, on Wednesday, in front of a small group of waiting media.
Their first child had arrived at 5.26am on Monday 6 May, weighing 7lb 3oz.
Archie, wrapped in a white blanket and wearing a white knitted hat, slept through his first public appearance.
As he was held by his father Harry, his mother Meghan told reporters that he had the "sweetest temperament".
When asked about her experience of becoming a new mother, the 37-year-old duchess replied: "It's magic, it's pretty amazing, and I have the two best guys in the world so I'm really happy.
"He has the sweetest temperament, he's really calm and has just been a dream. It has been a special couple of days."
Harry, 34, beamed as he added: "His looks are changing every single day.
"Parenting is amazing.
"It has only been two or three days and we're so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy."
The royal couple's choice of name for their baby raised eyebrows, with Archie considered only an outside chance against more traditional favourites such as Alexander, Arthur, Albert, James and Philip.
Archie means "genuine", "bold" and "brave", and is German in origin, while the baby's second name Harrison means "son of Harry", likely to be a tribute to the duke.

As is customary, the Queen was told the name before the couple announced it to the public.
A photo was posted of the occasion on Harry and Meghan's Instagram page showing a delighted monarch meeting the baby.
Watching on were the Duke of Edinburgh and Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, who travelled from her Los Angeles home to be with Meghan in the lead-up to the baby's birth.
It has not been confirmed where the duchess gave birth but there are reports that it may have been at the private Portland Hospital in central London.
There was also speculation the couple had been hoping for a home birth at their new home, Frogmore Cottage, on the Windsor estate.
Archie is the Queen's eighth great-grandchild and seventh in line to the throne, behind his grandfather the Prince of Wales, his uncle the Duke of Cambridge, his three young cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and his father Harry.
But his parents have broken with royal convention by deciding not to use a title for him - he will be known as Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
As the first born son of a duke, he could have been the Earl of Dumbarton - one of Harry's subsidiary titles - or Lord Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
Harry and Meghan have previously spoken about their desire for him to have as normal a life as possible and he will not be an HRH or a prince.
