Ariana Grande laughs off onstage tumble: 'Things were going too well'

Ariana Grande can laugh at herself.

While performing her Sweetener World Tour in Tampa, Fla., on Sunday, the “No Tears Left to Cry” singer, 26, took a tumble — while walking across a table in high-heeled boots — and fell to her knees. However, she recovered with a smile and had a good sense of humor about it.

While strutting across a table surrounded by her backup dancers, Grande lost her footing and fell to her knees. Before she had a chance to say “ouch,” a male dancer waiting by the side swooped in to help and guided her back to her feet. Pretty much immediately, she was smiling and laughing — and it was on with the show.

Grande acknowledged the fall later in the show, a fan video shows. She thanked fans for “making me feel loved when I fell earlier. I had to fall. It’s been 87 shows and I haven’t fallen yet, so I was waiting for it. Things were going too well.”

After the show, her Twitter timeline was all about the fall — and she took it in good stride. When one person posted the clip and pointed out that she “fell on beat,” she replied, “Oh my. At least i still made the button. I’m crying. Things were going too well.”

Fans were super supportive of the whole thing on social media too.

And she gave Tampa a shout-out on her Instagram after the show.
