Ariana Grande Made This Big Change to Her Pete Davidson "Always" Tattoo
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson broke up and called off their engagement last October, but as all of Instagram knows, the two had a whirlwind romance that ended with a lot of ink. Grande got the word "always" tattooed on her ribcage last June, but according to a new Instagram post, it was time for that art to evolve.

The singer posted a photo on Sunday of a new leaf tattoo that surrounds the word "always," but in the caption she insisted it’s not a cover up. "Not a cover up, just evolvin'," she wrote underneath the photo.
She also added a reminder that the Sweetener tour starts tomorrow, when she’ll give her first performance in Albany, New York. "i love u and i’m so grateful. see u soon," she wrote. Grande.
This "not a cover up" clarification was probably brought on by her past decisions with her Pete ink. In October, Grande covered up the "Pete" tattoo on her ring finger and did the same for the word "reborn," which was another Davidson-era tat. But "always" is still perfectly visible; it's just resting among the new branch of leaves on the left side of her ribcage.
Dates for Grande's tour run all the way through October in Switzerland, and it's the first time she’s toured since her Dangerous Woman in 2017, when her Manchester Arena show was interrupted by a tourist attack. She later told ELLE in the August cover story last year that she dealt with a good amount of anxiety after that event.
"When I got home from tour, I had really wild dizzy spells, this feeling like I couldn’t breathe," she said then. "I would be in a good mood, fine and happy, and they would hit me out of nowhere. I’ve always had anxiety, but it had never been physical before. There were a couple of months straight where I felt so upside down."
This experience, she said, inspired the last track on Sweetener, "Get Well Soon."
