Ariel Winter responds to troll who called her 'thirsty'
Ariel Winter has got her critics — but she’s got her comebacks too.
The actress joined the cast of Modern Family Monday evening for an event promoting the show. Winter’s co-star and friend Sarah Hyland — who sported new bangs on the red carpet — later shared a photo of the TV clan on social media.
Hyland gushed about her love for the crew, and while most of her followers heartily agreed with her sentimental statement, one troll couldn’t resist throwing an insult Winter’s way.

“Why does Ariel look so thirsty all the time,” someone commented, implying that Winter — who is frequently shamed for her wardrobe — was desperate for attention.
But Winter had time to fire back a sarcastic response.
Others soon swooped in to offer their support:
“Wow, you posted this lovely picture to celebrate and people are trashing on [Winter]. What’s wrong with people? I rarely read the comments and almost never comment myself but I thought WTF? She looks thirsty? What does that even mean?”
“I don’t see you as thirsty at all. If anything you take in the spotlight and radiate your own light.”
“You are amazing, talented, funny, and beautiful! Some people just will never get it. I love how you responded!”
“Ariel looks absolutely gorgeous, so does the whole cast. Why don’t we start trying to bring other people up instead of being total a******s? That’s a fun idea.”
“I love your response to this. I don’t get how in this day and age that people are still trying to shoot others down. Photos like this should be empowering for women to be more confident in who they are. Who doesn’t like to pose and have fun? And if you’re confident in doing so, then show others that you are because it makes you stand out! I say if you’ve got it, flaunt it!!”
The original poster, meanwhile, appeared to miss Winter’s sarcasm.
“I mean thirsty for attention. I think it’s ’cause her character on Modern Family is a huge nerd that has no sex appeal…”
