What would you ask Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath?

Yahoo Canada News will be talking to Andrea Horwath and we want to know what questions you have for the leader of the Ontario NDP.

Andrea Horwath released her party’s “Change for the Better” platform on Monday, which emphasizes significant investments in child care, health care, education and public transit.

The platform promises free child care for families that earn $40,000 or less. The party also promises an increase in hospital funding by 5.3 per cent – $916 million in the first year.

The provincial NDPs would also increase taxes by one per cent for individuals earning more than $220,000, with a two per cent increase for people earning $300,000 or more, and a increase in corporate tax rate from 11.5 per cent to 13 per cent.

Horwath is anticipating five consecutive deficits to fund the party’s platform, with a $3.3 billion deficit in the first year. Horwath defended the party’s spending, saying that it is a “sustainable plan.”

“We’ve only costed out to the five-year plan, but you can see that we’re down below $2 billion … for the fifth year and we’re going to continue to trend downward as we go forward,” Horwath told CBC Radio’s Ottawa Morning.

As the provincial election date approaches, the Ontario NDP are still trailing behind Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservatives and reining premier Kathleen Wynne’s Liberal government in the polls.

According to a survey by Innovative Research Group, conducted between April 2nd and April 9th, 37 per cent of respondents, would vote of the provincial PC party if an elected was held at the time of the poll, while 26 per cent would vote Liberal and 18 per cent would vote NDP.

An ON Pulse study, conducted by Ottawa-based research firm Abacus Data, found that of the 41,000 Ontarians surveyed between March 29th and April 8th, only 15 per cent of respondents have a negative view of Horwath, while 62 per cent have a negative view of Wynne and 35 per cent of respondents have a negative view of Ford.

So what questions do you have for Horwath before you head to the polls? What answers are you still waiting for? Let us know in the comments!
