August Alsina Reacts to Jada Pinkett Smith Calling Their Romance an “Entanglement”
In a new interview, August Alsina reacts to Jada Pinkett Smith’s comments on their past romance.
August says “there’s no bad blood” between him and the Smith family.
It looks like the August Alsina and Jada Pinkett Smith drama isn’t ending anytime soon. August (yet again) has more to say regarding his past romance with Jada. In a new Vulture interview, he chose to comment on Jada calling their relationship an “entanglement,” and his relationship with the Smith family since the drama began in June.
“I don’t know why that word is such an issue,” he said. “I would agree [with Jada]. If you look up the definition of ‘entanglement,’ it is a complex and difficult relationship. It was exactly that. I think it’s just the language that probably stuck out to people. But I definitely have to agree with it being an entanglement. It definitely was something complicated, a complicated dynamic.”
In case you need a recap, the drama between Jada and August began after he revealed that they dated years ago. He said Will Smith gave his blessing and that he “deeply loved” Jada. She initially denied having an affair but eventually told Will in an episode of her Facebook show, Red Table Talk, that she and August had an “entanglement” while they were separated.
“We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy,” Will explained on the show. “From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August,” Jada explained. After being pressed by her husband to clarify what she meant, she said, “Yes, it was a relationship absolutely.”
Despite the drama, August said that he still considers the Smiths family. “There’s a lot of history there,” he admitted. “They’re beautiful people. They’re beautiful spirits. They really are...there’s no bad blood with anybody.”
When it comes to the fallout he received after exposing his relationship with Jada, he has zero regrets, saying, “I think that everything worked out in the way that it should.”
