Baby Archie makes royal tour debut – and fans think he looks just like Harry

Baby Archie has made an unscheduled appearance during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal tour of South Africa, to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who is four months old, has red hair just like his father, close-up pictures of the engagement reveal.

Unsurprisingly, there was much talk about the child during the engagement.

Talking to press, Harry said of Archie “he’s an old soul”.

Archbishop Tutu’s daughter Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe also said to baby Archie, "You like the ladies. He's going to be a ladies' man.”

Fans have been quick to remark on social media of the resemblance between father and son – a likeness the US TV host Ellen DeGeneres has previously commented on.

Some people are commenting on Twitter that the child is Harry’s “twin”.

However, it was unclear which engagements he would be present at.

There were “no official plans for Archie to be seen”, The Sun’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews told Yahoo UK’s The Royal Box earlier this month.

Now the baby royal has made his first appearance as part of the tour, showcased in a video shared by the Sussex Royal Instagram account – and his parents look delighted to introduce him.

Prince Harry wore a navy suit and tie with a white shirt and black lace up brogues for the occasion.

Social media is going wild for the appearance, with people calling it “the cutest” and “adorable”.

The Sussex Royal Instagram account shared a cute picture of Archbishop Desmund Tutu kissing little Archie on the forehead.

The image, shared with 9.5 million followers, is captioned: “Arch meets Archie”.

A Twitter user noticed that dad Harry refers to the little one as “Arch”, commenting on how adorable this nickname is.

Little Archie was nowhere to be seen for the first two days of the tour, with Meghan telling 81-year-old Somaya Ebrahim, a former District Six resident, “he’s sleeping”, according to People.

However, he was honoured with a South African name, Ntsika – pronounced “in-Tsee-kah” – during the Duke and Duchess’ engagement at the South African organisation Justice Desk yesterday.
