  • Clare Crawley quit filming The Bachelorette after she fell in love with one of her contestants.

  • When Clare quit, ABC producers were reportedly “shocked” and had to scramble to figure out how to finish the season.

  • Multiple sources confirmed that Tayshia Adams will replace Clare.

We all know Tayshia Adams is officially the new Bachelorette, but let’s go back, back to the beginning just for a second. After waiting months and months to start filming her season, Clare Crawley shut everything down after just two weeks because she fell in love with Dale Moss. Clare and Dale are reportedly happily engaged now, but ABC and Bachelorette producers were legit “scrambling” trying to figure out what to do.

According to Us Weekly sources, producers were “shocked” when Clare quit and wouldn’t emerge from her room to continue filming. Apparently, the team was “scrambling” and “frantic” while thinking of ways to save the rest of the season. “They had to find a way to continue the show without just starting from scratch,” the source said.

The solution? Calling up former contestants who had already been vetted but ultimately weren’t cast. And that’s how Bachelor Nation got Tayshia, who will definitely be an entertaining lead! (Free idea for ABC: Bring John Paul Jones back on the show so he and Tayshia can rehash whatever their confusing relationship in Paradise was before she moves on with her contestants.)

So far, not much is known about Tayshia’s season because, hello, she just got there, but people have already spotted Hannah Ann Sluss and Becca Kufrin on-set. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what all that is about. The season is said to premiere in the fall, but it’ll be interesting to see if this major swap forces ABC to push that date back.
