Balenciaga and Crocs have teamed up for a collection of footwear that has people talking, to say the least.

The luxury brand debuted its various new styles including knee-high boot Crocs as well as stiletto Crocs available in several colours, including black, grey, and green.

While the idea for the collaboration is certainly a creative one, many have criticized the collection for being "too out there."

"These are horrid," someone tweeted, while another added, "Who thought this was a good idea?"

"Maybe there's no creative heads handling fashion for Balenciaga if this is all they could come up with. I bet they will put some crazy amount of money on each of them and celebrities will still buy it like their lives depend on it," one person sounded off.

"When we talk about wastefulness in fashion, this should be held up as an example," another wrote.

"It's giving me we just threw this together cause this generation will wear anything," someone else tweeted.

"Balenciaga and Crocs made a baby and I am having mixed thoughts," added another.

Despite the negative reactions the collab has received, the unconventional designs have caused Crocs' demand to spike 9,900% according to The Sun. CNN also reported that the stiletto Crocs are rumoured to cost upward of $1,000.

This isn't the first time that Balenciaga and Crocs have joined forces. Back in 2017, the two brands released an $850 style that sold out before it even reached stores.

While speaking with French Vogue in 2017, fashion designer and creative director at Balenciaga revealed that their brand was inspired by the comfort Crocs is known for, and predicted another unique collaboration.

“We were inspired by Crocs and we worked with them on a Balenciaga reinterpretation. Balenciaga x Crocs isn’t impossible, the question of taste is a very subjective value. We’ll see if this works in six months’ time in the stores,” he said, adding that Crocs' clogs are the “world’s comfiest shoes.”
