While a consider myself a huge makeup junkie, I like to save my glam products and skills for special occasions and keep things very minimal on a daily basis. Always trying to achieve that fresh face, no-makeup look, my everyday routine consists of brows products, a light dusting of bronzer, and combination of three different concealers to hide blemishes, fine lines around my nose and mouth to brighten and even out the discolouration in my eye area.
As of recently, I’ve been using the Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer, a full-coverage concealer, to hide under-eye circles. While this concealer typically does a pretty good job at achieving a very natural coverage, there are some days where it just can’t hide what I need and how I need it to. As much I would love to blame the formula, the fault of cakey concealer is typically due to texture and condition of the skin around your eyes, which is why eye cream is one part of your skin regimen you should never skip.
But if you find you’re having more bad concealer days than good, there’s one product that’s on my radar that just may change the way to you look at concealer forever.
Acting as the ultimate concealer primer, skincare meets makeup in BECCA’s Under Eye Brightening Corrector. Designed to wear under concealer, this light-reflecting crème is designed to brighten eyes, smooth fine lines and combat circles and discolouration. And with more than 300 praising reviews, this product is a hard one to pass up.
“A makeup artist recommended this to me. Had never heard of it before and now I can’t live without it. It’s just amazing! Really helps under the eyes and anywhere else you need to reduce dark or red skin tone. Does not fall into fine lines. Use under foundation,” says one five-star review.
“This is a product that I will never be without! It's so incredible, I bought one for both of my sisters too, and I rarely rave about a product this much. It is quite thick, so a little goes a long way and you just pat it under the eye area. It instantly brightens the under-eye area, making bags look less deep and colour correcting darkness. I finish with a creamy concealer dabbed over the top,” says another.
Dubbed as the glow-authority label’s “eight hours of sleep in a jar,” the corrective tints of peach and apricot pigments of this under-eye base helps cancel blueish tones and counteract unwanted darkness from hyperpigmentation. The backlight technology reflects light to draw attention away from stubborn wrinkles and lines to create a youthful lifting effect.
For the best results, it’s recommended to warm up the formula between your fingers and gently pat it into the under-eye starting at the inner corner and blending outwards, working your way up to the brow bone (think inverted triangle) and follow with your favourite concealer. And for those mid-day makeup touch-ups, all you need to do is reapply and an additional thin layer of Under Eye Brightening Corrector over your concealer for a youthful luminizing boost.
As one of BECCA’s best-selling products, we doubt this product will go on sale any time soon. But now for a limited time at Nordstrom, shoppers will receive deluxe samples of BECCA’s Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder in Original (0.05 oz.) and Glow Gloss Lip Gloss in Rose Gold, plus three sample cards of Ultimate Coverage Foundation (9 single-use shades total) with a $30 BECCA purchase.
