This Sunday, stars from Emma Stone to Denzel Washington will descend on Hollywood's Dolby Theatre for the 89th annual Academy Awards. They will give teary-eyed speeches, they will brave disappointing losses, they will show off their beautiful dresses and tuxes, and then they will eat. The official post-Oscars celebration is of course the Governors Ball, and this year it will play host to 1,500 guests. Hungry ones. And just like the last twenty years, chef Wolfgang Puck is ready to feed them.

"This year, the Academy went with a circus theme, so for us, we wanted to add some playfulness and fun to the menu to match the whimsy of the decor," Puck said. "We will create a parmesan funnel cake to top our braised short ribs, 24-carat gold-dusted popcorn, lobster corn dogs, and more." For Puck, designing a menu is first and foremost about creating the most delicious dish. From there, his team evolved the side dishes and garnishes to add elements of fun that fit the festive occasion.

Guests can also expect a 2,600 pound sculpted ice raw bar, 7,500 shrimp, 200 pounds of brussels sprouts, 20 gallons of housemade gelato, and 1,000 individual plated desserts--and that's just the beginning. Keep reading for selections from the menu.
