Ben Affleck Is the Most Dressed-Up Parent to Ever Attend a Children's Soccer Game

Ben Affleck likes to leave us guessing when it comes to matters of style.
Some days he's the best damned dressed man on your local red carpet and other days we question his ability to put pants on correctly (no, really). Sometimes his outerwear is second to none, and sometimes his neckwear gets the best of him. At least he keeps us on our toes.
For his latest sartorial trick, Affleck rolled up to his daughter's Saturday soccer game in Los Angeles — the ultimate laidback occasion if ever there were one — wearing the unofficial cool dad uniform of dark jeans, band tee ("Sonic Youth"), and sleek sneakers. However Affleck chose to top it of with a ... sport coat. Listen, we fully endorse Affleck doing his parental duties, and we're all for erring on the side of overdressing, rather than underdressing for certain events, but it's no doubt a little odd to see the 44-year-old actor lounging on the grass on a sunny afternoon, wearing shades and his finest tailored jacket. Some swerves are unexpected and cool, but this one makes him look slightly out of place.
While some people may consider winter the ultimate coat season, we prefer these transitional times where you can ignore your heftier, shapeless jackets in favor for something trim and cool. We say ditch the sports coat and maybe pull out a lightweight jacket — perhaps a suede one or sporty coach's jacket. It's spring, the options are practically endless.
