Is this the world's sexiest trash can? Decide for yourself
I never thought I'd describe a trash can as hot. Unless I just burned a pork loin and tossed it in.
But seriously, a beautiful trash can? The receptacle for last night's lasagna remnants and this morning's coffee grounds? It’s true. I've discovered a trash can that adds to the look of my kitchen rather than taking away from it. One that visitors actually comment on rather than pass off as just another utilitarian item. It’s kind of like a piece of furniture, and you’d never guess what lies within. Time to trash your old trash can—this is the prettiest and most functional one I’ve ever seen.
Meet the Brabantia Bo Touch Bin.
Sitting atop four thin legs, it's like a supermodel of sanitation. A streamlined sculpture that somehow seems to float. Elevating the receptacle keeps the look airy and lets you clean the floor beneath it with ease. Heaven.

Virtually ‘place’ the Bo Touch Bin in your space by following these steps:
Make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS
Tap the image above
Wait a few moments for the experience to load
At the top of the screen, tap “Object” to see the bin in 3D, or “AR” to see it in your home
Hold your phone at waist level, point it wherever you’re thinking of placing the bin, and a life-size version will appear!
The trash can sits flush against the wall to save space, which I appreciate (my previous can was curved, so it just didn’t fit right and always looked sloppy). This one is also a bit shorter—but wider. And this width is where it really shines, both aesthetically and functionally. The horizontal lines look sleek and the wide opening allows you to scrape those plates without fear of peas and carrots flying over the rim. It’s satisfying. And it’s calming.
The trash can sits at the perfect height for scraping food, too. I don’t know if they did market research or what to decide that 26.7 inches is the perfect height, but it is. I could stand there all day shoveling mac ‘n cheese into it without my back hurting. The lid is another work of art. When you press down on it, it silently pops open. Ahhh, the delicious sound of silence.
When you look inside the bin you’ll see a big bucket and a small bucket. This is particularly exciting to me because I never had a dedicated place for recycling; I'd just hang a bag from a cabinet knob and it would sit around filled with empty egg cartons and soup cans, saggy and sad. Since the recycling section isn’t huge, it’s better for things like water bottles and soda cans rather than gallons of milk. You could also use the big part for recycling and the small part for compost. Go crazy and fulfill all your trashy dreams with this baby.
The garbage and recycling buckets are separate, so you can take one out and not the other if you wish. The trash can comes with three perfectly sized Brabantia bags for each bucket, and I love how they dutifully gripped the edges. But I’ll probably end up buying other bags in the future to save cash.
I chose steel to match my appliances, but it also comes in white (super chic and modern), black and gold. Keep in mind that when it arrives you’ll have to twist the legs on, but this was easy enough and required no tools. It’s not cheap—from $149 to $222 depending on what color you choose, but it comes with a 10-year guarantee. If you’re a design lover, it’s worth it.
I adore this trash can so much I’m considering getting one as a hamper—I’d use the smaller bucket for socks to hopefully cut down on missing pairs. Yes! I know you’re intrigued! I’ve never been in love like this before.
You know what they say...that one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure? Now, I’ve got both.
