When it comes to eye shapes, I guess mine fall somewhere between creased and small. But nonetheless, my almond-shaped eyes, like most Asian eyes, have been cramped by eye makeup — eyeliner stamping above your crease, mascara never really doing anything, and don’t even get me started on where and how to apply eyeshadow.

And while I’ve resolved many of these makeup woes with the right products, techniques and lots practice, there was one thing I had a hard time getting board with for the longest time and that’s using an eyelash curler.

While my genetically short, straight lashes are the first to blame, curling my eyes with a conventional eyelash curler meant dedicating extra time that I didn’t have to my makeup routine. I’ve always found the shape of eyelash curlers to be totally flawed. They were always too curved in and too big to even sit on my lash line of my Asian eyes properly. So, I’ve always had to curl my lashes in three parts: the outer-end the middle and the inner-end or, believe it of not, with a spoon (a hack I learned from from YouTube beauty guru Michelle Phan).

One moment of not being careful with an eyelash curler typically lead to a traumatic pinch on my lids and an overly dramatic cry of agony until the pain subsided.

At first glance, I always thought all eyelash curlers looked all the same. But that was until I was introduced to one curler that is said to perfect Asian eyes.

The Tweezerman Promaster Lash Curler is specially designed with a 38 degree shape, which makes it perfect for both almond-shaped and/or deep sets eyes. I was a little skeptical at first, but I was so amazed with how this curler was able to reach the corner of my lashes; comfortably curling them without any adjustments or accidental pinching. I’ve been using my Promaster Lasher Curler for almost five years and it continues to transform the look of my limp lashes every time. I’m talking curl and length.

The key to finding the best eyelash curler for you is all about the right curvature. To shop Tweezeman’s Promaster Lash Curler and other recommendations for Asian eyes, scroll through my picks below.

Customer Review: “I didn't really understand the difference between eyelash curler until I compared this one to my other eyelash curlers. Wow, where have I been? I think I finally found the perfect eyelash curler for my eyes. This one has a shallow curvature, which is perfect for my small eyes. The top bar also protrudes out so it'll reach into the roots of your lashes easily, while being pinch free. It's also more narrow and the opening is larger, making it easier to use. This is a must have for anyone with Asian eyes!”

Customer Review: “I have wide eyes with tiny lashes in the corners that easily get stuck in most curlers. This is the first eyelash curler that reaches my lashes across the full width of my eye. It takes me a few pumps to get the full curl out of my lashes, but once I do that, they stay curled all day without mascara!”
