When visiting the Eternal City, there is always a question of where best to stay. One option, nestled away from the hustle and bustle, sits the Rome Cavalieri at the top of Monte Mario. And who could forget the world-class art collection? Which begs the question: when staying at Rome Cavalieri, why would anyone choose to leave the premises? We caught up with the Managing Director, Alessandro Cabello to chat about what makes the Rome Cavalieri so irresistible, here below:
What do you consider to be the best room at the property and why?
One of our absolute favorites and most in-demand rooms is the Penthouse Suite, which sits atop the hotel. In addition to its aristocratic size and abundance of spacious living areas, a major highlight of the suite is the prized artwork and furnishing within, where our guests can sleep beside limited edition works like Andy Warhol’s ‘Dollar Signs,’ enjoy a hydro-massage bath next to a beautiful portrait of Marilyn Monroe, and relax in comfort on Karl Lagerfeld's sofas.
The real showstopper is the suite’s private roof garden, providing a 2,300-square-foot sanctuary that overlooks the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Eternal City and St. Peter’s Basilica from above, which can be admired in the rooftop’s private Jacuzzi tub. It is one of the most coveted settings in the entire hotel.
How much does it cost per night?
The Penthouse Suite starts at €9,000 per night, which is approximately $9,200 USD.
How would you describe the guests that stay at the hotel and the general atmosphere/vibe?

What is one thing about the hotel that you think first time visitors will find surprising?
Our guests visiting for the first time are generally stunned by our museum-worthy art collection from the moment they step into our grand lobby. One of the first sights they are greeted with when they walk through our front entrance is a richly decorated baroque commode dating back to the eighteenth century, which once belonged to the King of Poland. It is a testament to the exceptional caliber and quality of the more than 1,000 pieces of Italian masters’ paintings, French period furniture, rare tapestries, exquisite sculptures, and other artifacts that are on display across the hotel. Rome Cavalieri is a living art gallery and guests are often quite surprised to stumble upon a fascinating piece of art around every corner.
What do you think gives the hotel such a unique identity?

What is a local attraction that you always recommend to guests?
In addition to Rome’s iconic and historic attractions that are on most of our guests’ bucket lists, we love to recommend a vintage Vespa tour, which winds guests through the picturesque streets of Trastevere. It is a fantastic way for visitors to establish their bearings of both the historic and modern sites of Rome, and certainly an adventurous experience they won’t soon forget. It is not for the faint of heart, however, and we alternatively can arrange a highly unique and sustainable Eco-Spiaggina Experience, which has guests exploring the sights of the Eternal City aboard a converted-to-electric vintage FIAT 500 ‘Spiaggina’ car instead.
