Right now it feels more important than ever to stay connected. With information around coronavirus changing by the day and more people self-isolating and social distancing, remaining at the forefront of the news cycle — and connected to friends and family — is top of mind for many.
If you’re looking for a surefire way to ensure your phone won’t lose battery life, the Anker PowerWave Pad is a top-rated, affordable wireless charger — and right now, it’s a whopping 34% off, ringing in at under $20.
What is it?
The Anker PowerWave Pad is a wireless charger that boosts your phone without having to plug it in. This PowerWave Pad offers high-speed charging, 10W for Samsung Galaxy phones and 5W for iPhones and Google Pixels. The PowerWave Pad is in the shape of a slim disk with such a powerful charge that you don’t need to fumble with your phone case and can simply charge your devices through any protective casing. It also comes equipped with a non-slip pad.
SHOP IT: Amazon, $19 (originally $29)
How does it work?
The wireless charger looks like a small plate — simply lay it down on your desk or table and place your phone on top to fully charge your device. The charger comes equipped with a functionality that allows a charge even without removing your phone case.
What people are saying
With a 4.3 star rating on more than 12,000 reviews, this phone charger is an Amazon customer favourite.
“This is one of the best wireless chargers I have used. Besides the cool minimalist design, this charger will work through an OtterBox case like it is not even there,” writes one reviewer. “I was blown away that it took one second (literally) for my phone to detect charging. There was no ‘sweet spot’ chasing. I put the phone on it and it started charging immediately. I am ordering another one for my office.”
“This wireless charger is so convenient to use, you literally unbox, plug the cable in to the pad and the other end into the plug. Just switch it on at the wall and away you go. Your device just rests on top,” adds another.
While customers can’t get enough of the Anker PowerWave Pad, one complaint is that the USB cable could be a bit longer.
“The only gripe I have is with the cable length… three feet is really short. Unless a power plug is really close to a desk, it probably won't reach the desk. When I get a longer cable the product will be pretty much perfect, but what you get is slightly disappointing,” says one customer.
“Very good build quality, the quick charge works through a case. I have a second one for my wife's S9 and it works the same. My only issue, and I'm nit-picking here, is the supplied USB cord is too short,” adds another customer.
If you’re looking for an easy way to charge your phone while still being aesthetically pleasing and affordable then this is the charger for you. However, if you have a great distance between your charging location and the wall plug, you may want to invest in a longer USB cord to ensure the charging pad has a constant supply of power to charge your device.
