What would a Chanel ad be without BLACKPINK's Jennie Kim in it? The K-pop star and Chanel aficionado was tapped by the French luxury brand once again to star in one of their most recent ads.
Jennie was featured in the spread for Chanel's Coco Crush fine jewelry collection in a series of videos and photos that showed off the musician's understated and chic little black dress. Jennie is filmed traipsing around a large, open space with nothing but a camera and some old-fashioned radio equipment. At one point, she's shown lying down and listening to music.
Looking as effortless and glamorous as ever, Jennie's lace LBD is a twist on the classic — with crocheted detailing and long bell sleeves. She doesn't wear any shoes in the ad, as she sits on the floor and plays with a Chanel cassette tape.
“If an encounter that mattered to me was a song, I think it would be ‘Whistle,’ my first debut song,” Jennie says in the Coco Crush video.
She also went on to say that her favorite Coco Crush piece is her necklace and that she stacks her jewelry together.
Jennie has been working with Chanel as their brand ambassador since 2017. She recently sat front row at the brand's spring-summer 2024 fashion show in Paris wearing a cream-colored fleece vest top and matching mini shorts embellished with tiny bright pink interlocking "CC" logos.
Not only is Jennie the face of Chanel, but she also works closely with other brands including Calvin Klein, Jacquemus, and Adidas.
As a true Chanel ambassador, Jennie made her Met Gala debut in 2023 with the brand, wearing a vintage 90s white mini dress. The dress perfectly matched the theme last year, which celebrated former Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld. She paired the outfit with black tights, black opera gloves, and sky-high heels. Jennie's BLACKPINK co-member Rosé made history in 2021 by becoming the first K-pop star to attend the prestigious fashion event.
