Blackpink's Rosé Is Going Solo With a New Release

BLACKPINK and Netflix Teamed Up for a Documentary

It's called Light Up the Sky.

Along with the debut of THE SHOW, a livestream concert special, Blackpink — more specifically, Rosé — has some very big news. Billboard reports that Rosé (full name Roseanne Park) is teasing brand-new solo material. Blinks got a taste of it on Twitter and will have to wait until the debut of THE SHOW on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 12 a.m. EST, to catch more.

"Get a first preview of #ROSÉ's solo project at 2021 #BLACKPINK: THE SHOW!" the official BLACKPINK Twitter account told its followers alongside a quick 30-second clip. There's not much to see, other than Rosé wearing a negligée in a kitchen scene and curled up on the floor of a bathroom, though fans can make what they will of images such as a flaming rose, a stained-glass window, and the following lyrics: "All my love is gone / All my love is gone / Now you're dead and gone."

Blackpink also shared the preview on its YouTube channel, which is also where THE SHOW will be streaming for members.

Though Blackpink's record label, YG Entertainment, stated that all four members would release solo material, so far, only Jennie has, with a track called "SOLO." As for an entire solo album from Rosé, Teen Vogue reports (via Soompi) that YG had this to say: "We will be making an official announcement about the schedule for the album release shortly."

Viewers of Netflix's Blackpink documentary, Light Up the Sky, got some insight to Rosé's approach to performing by herself, saying that she found it to be more intimidating than when she is with her bandmates.

"I feel more intimidated when I'm by myself," she said. "When I'm in my room by myself and [say] 'oh I should try and write something,' I think I'm way more intimidated then. Cause it's me, I don't know if my opinions are right and that scares me. I feel like I scare myself the most."

Teen Vogue notes that Lisa should be the next member in line to drop new music.
