Nordstrom’s in-house brands have always been some of the most covetable among their huge selection of fashion for men and women. Now more than ever, not only are they affordable and on trend, they also have some pretty major star power behind their exclusive collaborations.

The most recent collection comes in the form of the newest Halogen x Atlantic-Pacific drop, designed with mega-influencer Blair Eadie’s signature style in mind. Filled with bright pops of colour and bold patterns, the collection is a welcome breath of fresh air this season for anyone looking to update their wardrobe.

Eadie and the Nordstrom design team worked together to create a collection that is reflective of her personal style with texture being at the forefront of every piece. From organza to tweed to translucent fabrics, this collection embodies the bold colours and movement we’ve grown to expect from every look Eadie pulls together.

We were able to chat with Eadie about the inspiration behind the latest collection, as well as getting some of her favourite styling tips for the season.

The collection is filled with your signature bright patterns and colours, but were there any particular inspirations for this new season?

Blair Eadie: When creating this collection we wanted these pieces to invoke a feeling of optimism. We hope colourful, bright items in this collection spark a bit of joy. While we couldn't anticipate the current climate during the launch, we have been very touched by feedback from customers that mentioned this product has brought them happiness during such an uncertain time.

What is your design process like when you approach a new collection? Has it changed at all since you first started designing?

BE: I have been working with the Nordstrom Made team for over two years now. We partner together on the line plan and needs for the season and I deliver the overall creative direction, mood, and inspiration for each season. From there, a tremendous amount of collaboration exists on everything from materials, to fit intent, to costing, and pricing. I remain as involved as possible to make sure my voice shines through in the product.

This spring line is the only warm-weather collection we collaborated on during our partnership! We took hemlines shorter, created more versatile knits, and added in more casual pieces than ever before. Fall of 2020 will be the final collection that we will create together and I am going to miss working with everyone so much.

What are some of your favourite pieces if someone is looking to start dipping their toes into the world of colour?

BE: It's our job to think about all the different ways that customers can and will wear these pieces. While there are a lot of standout tops that I have paired back to matching skirts and printed pants, we've made sure that these look equally great back to white skinny jeans or your favourite pair of boyfriend jeans for those who tend to be a little more cautious with colour. So many of the pieces can be worn together or broken apart and paired with items you already own.

What are some of your top styling tips for those of us who are still working from home?

BE: The sweaters and jackets in the collection look awesome [with] leggings to step up your WFH looks. And, while the dresses in the collection can certainly be worn for special occasions, they can also make perfect weekend looks with our casual espadrille sneakers.
