A blogger who previously admitted to Photoshopping her Instagram photos has been applauded for shunning filters and uploading pictures of the ‘dimples on her bum online.

Joanne Larby, who goes by the name ‘makeupfairypro’ went through a rough time in 2018, when she was called out for editing her photos and took a hiatus from the app, coming back two weeks later with a new perspective on life.

"I’ve actually been really humbled by this whole experience and gained a huge amount of knowledge. I hold my hands up to making mistakes, I have plenty of flaws, I’m human and I’m always learning,” Joanne wrote on her page at the time.

"My content is about enjoying life, trying out new hobbies, finding balance in terms of health and mental wellness. I’m passionate about beauty and fashion and inspiring women to take strength from s***** situations.

“You’ll catch me in real life most likely laughing confidently with no make up on and online in front of 150,000 people I f******’ love a filter. Huge big hug to those of you who have continued to support me.”

Since then, Joanne’s 150,000 followers have been loving her new approach to her snaps, with the former makeup artist showing off her real self.

“Body type: not terrible but definitely enjoys pasta, “ she wrote in one photo.

“All jokes aside, I went from being a plus sized model and embracing my shape in shoots to bullying my body into building something unnatural.”

Joanne went on to say that she ‘felt immense pressure to look a certain way and remove unsightly lumps and bumps’ from her photos.

“Now I look at this picture and think ‘maybe I don’t need to smooth my skin or brighten the image so it looks more instagram worthy’ and ‘I quite like those thick thighs’,” she continued.

“Now I workout for the endorphins it brings me and how good I feel after training not to punish my body. I look forward to eating healthy fresh food after a weekend filled with treats I haven’t tracked in an app.”
