What makes a family? Laura, her partner Lisa, and their 8-year-old daughter Mya are proof that you can have a family without a mom AND a dad -- in fact, the only essential ingredient in making a family is love. "Our family is two people who are devoted to each other, who respect each other, who love each other ... who brought a child into the world and both people give 100% to that child," she says.
