German-born supermodel and “Project Runway” host Heidi Klum is selling her home in Brentwood Estates — the mansion she bought in 2010 with then-husband Seal when it was in foreclosure.

The listing website declares that the Mediterranean-style villa “has been given the Heidi makeover.” The 8-bedroom, 10-bath, 12,300-square-foot estate on 8.5 acres is just off Mandeville Canyon in one of L.A.’s most prestigious neighborhoods.

The listing was first reported in the Wall Street Journal.

The home had been sitting on the market, vacant, for about two years before Klum purchased it, said listing agent Lynn Teschner of The Agency. When Klum visited, she was worried about how long the home had been empty. She had four small children and wasn’t looking for a fixer-upper.

But Klum said in a statement that she fell in love. “I honestly felt that I was no longer in Los Angeles and instead was strolling the gardens of a home in the South of France.”

She bought the home for $14.2 million.

Klum spent several million fixing it up — restoring doors, windows, and thresholds, designing her dream closets, and adding home technology and security. She added a master bathroom with a view of the Pacific. (Click here or on a photo for a slideshow of the home -- including a few of the home before Klum's arrival.)

“By the time we finished,” she said, “the house was as incredible as its grounds and views. Sometimes I sit in the garden, drinking my coffee, looking at the Pacific, and really feel it is a little piece of heaven.”

At $25 million, the listing is quite a bit less expensive than the custom Mediterranean estate that supermodel Gisele Bundchen and football star Tom Brady put on the market a few months ago. They ended up selling to Dr. Dre for $40 million.

Klum is saying “auf wiedersehen” to her super-estate at a time when very high-priced homes are flying off the market in L.A.

The home has a motor court with a fountain, an infinity-edge pool and spa, a koi pond, a formal rose garden, a rolling lawn for golf putting and driving, a children’s playhouse and slide, and “secret gardens.” And that’s just outside — with ocean views.

Inside, the dining room was imported from Paris, where it was a private dining room in a hotel. It was reconstructed in the home by the previous owner. In the library, there is an ornate wooden bookcase that came from Napoleon’s French country home.

Klum has moved on to “another project” in the Los Angeles area, her agent said — a new home she wants to fix up. (She bought a Bel-Air home last fall.)
