With the support of an entire nation behind them, the Toronto Blue Jays have been dominating the early voting for the 2022 MLB All-Star Game.

Four Blue Jays position players hold starting spots for the Midsummer Classic after the first round of voting returns: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (first base), Bo Bichette (shortstop), George Springer (outfield) and Alejandro Kirk (catcher). No other team has more than two representatives currently occupying starting positions.

Kirk was Toronto's most popular candidate and landed a whopping 670,000 votes ahead of the American League's second catcher. Guerrero Jr. also has a stranglehold at first base, which is not surprising given the young slugger captured MVP honours at the 2021 event.

Bichette and Springer have more tenuous holds on their position, but with an entire country evidently voting early and often, it would not be surprising to see them hold steady in the polls.

Toronto second baseman Santiago Espinal is also in the hunt, as are outfielders Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Teoscar Hernandez.

The top overall vote-getter in each league after Phase 1 of voting will automatically receive a spot in their all-star team's starting lineup. Aside from those two players, the top two vote-getters at every position, and the top six outfielders, will advance to the finals of voting. Phase 1 closes on June 30.

The game itself takes place on July 19 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
