Blue Jays leave Yankees fans in shambles with sweep in New York
The New York Yankees. The Bronx Bombers. The Pinstripes. The Losing Four In A Row To The Toronto Blue Jays And Killing All Late-Season Momentum.
No matter the reality, the Yankees always shoulder the highest of expectations, but after the Blue Jays had their way with them, sweeping the four-game series with a 25-8 aggregate score, their fans are in the depths of Fan Sadness.
It certainly doesn’t help that it was a historic sweep, having lost four consecutive games at home while never holding a lead for the first time in over 100 years. And on the other side of the series, Blue Jays phenom Vladimir Guerrero Jr. became the third-youngest player in American League history to hit 40 homers and drive in 100 runs in a season. When Joe DiMaggio is just a couple names ahead of you, you know it’s an insane feat.
With those four games behind them and a series against the crosstown Mets coming up, the Yankees are battling for their postseason lives and every single fan knows it.
So of course they flocked to Twitter to express their grief.
No Need to tweet anymore this season and yell and possibly have a heart attack over these dudes just not worth my heartache and I like I said a Yankee fan to the end but this is Embarassing and I pray this owner wakes up and sees his fan base revolting!!!

Imagine if the Yankees started their best hitters and didn’t pitch their worst pitchers.

If you’re not a Yankees fan, this is peak entertainment. If you are, well, maybe stay low for a little bit.
Even with the powerhouse performances, the Blue Jays are still half a game behind the Yankees in the AL East standings and the race for the wild card. The Boston Red Sox are just a single game above New York, so it very well could come down to the three divisional rivals battling for the final two playoff spots. The Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners will look to crash the party, though.
The Blue Jays have 23 games left to try and rip that spot away from the baseball giants and the fact that they have won their last eight and the Yankees have lost their last six tells the whole story about the momentum shifting in this dramatic postseason battle.
