Borat is to set return in a new multi-part series on Amazon.
Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen’s colourful Kazakhstani journalist will be back this month in three specials entitled Borat Supplemental Reportings Retrieved From Floor Of Stable Containing Editing Machine.
The series is comprised of unused footage from the making of the star’s 2020 film Subsequent Moviefilm.
The first instalment – which is called BORAT: VHS Cassette of Material Deemed “Sub-acceptable” By Kazakhstan Ministry of Censorship and Circumcision – features unseen footage from Subsequent Moviefilm.
Borat’s American Lockdown is said to be the “40 minute reality show of Borat Sagdiyev as he spends five days at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic with two conspiracy theorists”.
Debunking Borat is a series of documentary shorts in which Borat’s roommates have their theories debunked by some of the world’s leading experts.
The shorts are entitled Vaccine Microchip, Mail-in Ballots Scam, Soros, China Virus, Gates’ Bricks and Hillary Clinton & Blood Libel.
Last month, the official Borat Twitter account teased that there was more footage coming.
The post said: “In historic bi-lateral trade agreement Kazakhstan have provide Amazon Corporation with 63 minute extra moviefilm footages in exchange for 2 year Prime membership and 134 Amazon Basics AAA battery with shared use of charger with Kyrgystan.”
Baron Cohen’s prankster persona was initially developed for short TV skits and then featured in Da Ali G Show.
The film Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan was unveiled in 2006 and Baron Cohen brought the buffoonish journalist back in last year’s sequel.
The series will premiere on 25 May on Amazon Prime Video.
