I will be the first to admit it: I am a chronic blender breaker. After years of busted immersion blenders, jar blenders, and famed as-seen-on TV blenders, I thought I would finally have to give up my morning smoothies in the name of personal finance.
However, my love of blended foods must have been heard by a higher power because I was given a chance to try the Braun TriForce Power Blender, and I have to say, I'm a blender believer once more.

What is it?
The Braun TriForce Power Blender guarantees four times faster results than previous models. It comes with three texture settings: smooth, medium and coarse, and six automated food programs, including soup, smoothies, frozen desserts and more, amounting to 18 different blending settings.
The blender's sharp PrecisionEdge Blades effortlessly emulsify tough ingredients like root vegetables and chunks of ice. Its robust design can transform raw nuts and seeds into creamy spreads in minutes, and its 1600 watts of power ensures that everyone can blend exactly to their liking.
After taking a spin with different smoothies and frozen foods, the setting I find most impressive is its innovative soup function. Simultaneously heating as it spins, you can turn vegetables into a piping-hot, ready-to-eat soup in just minutes.
First impressions
As a self-proclaimed soup junkie, I was thrilled to learn about the soup function on the Braun TriForce Power Blender. I didn't go so far as to blend raw vegetables (I've lost too many blenders to ill-fated recipes to be so willy-nilly), however, I did give it a go with cooked parsnips, beets, and carrots. On all three occasions, my soups had a professional-quality texture and a perfect ready-to-eat temperature.
After two weeks of daily smoothies and soups, I can only say good things about the Braun TriForce Power Blender. It tackles frozen vegetables and fruits with ease and blends my frozen bananas to a texture that I can pretend is ice cream if I close my eyes hard enough.
The only things I would note are that when you run the blender on one of its more powerful or time-intensive settings (for example, the soup function takes six minutes), it does produce a bit of a burning rubber smell.
Additionally, it's loud. For such a powerful blender, the noise level makes sense, but it's definitely something to be aware of if you live in a thin-walled apartment building or if your smoothie routine begins at the crack of dawn.

With an average rating of 4.7 stars on Amazon, it seems I am not alone in my love for the Braun 12-speed blender.
The blender can "pretty much emulsify anything" I put into it, according to one reviewer. It's the first blender I've tried that "can actually make and heat soup."
It makes "hot soup, flour and snow cones," writes another shopper. Whether for shaved ice, nut butter, hummus, smoothies, or homemade flour, "it's perfect."
Amazon shoppers echo my thoughts on its power and versatility, as well as the noise level on its higher settings. "It's as loud as you'd expect," writes one user, but on lower speeds, "it's surprisingly quiet."
However, even with largely positive reviews, some shoppers note that while the Braun blender is powerful, it lags behind competing brands. For the price point of the blender, you could find refurbished versions of pricey competitors that are "more powerful," claims one shopper.
Verdict
As far as blenders go, years of blending mishaps have taught me that it's always worth splurging on a good-quality blender. Rather than waste your money on cheap blenders that can scarcely handle an ice cube, invest in a top-quality appliance like the Braun TriForce Power Blender. If like me, you've sent one too many blenders to the appliance graveyard, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by this countertop wonder.
