Brayden Smith, 5-time 'Jeopardy!' champ, dead at 24

Brayden Smith, a five-time “Jeopardy!” champ, died on Feb. 5. He was 24. Smith was the last five-time champion from the Alex Trebek era of the iconic game show. His appearances on the show in December 2020 were among the last taped by Trebek before he died of pancreatic cancer on Nov. 8. Smith’s family announced his death on Twitter, saying, “We are heartbroken to share that our dear Brayden Smith recently passed away unexpectedly. We are so grateful that Brayden was able to live out his dream on @jeopardy.”
