Celebrities including Kerry Washington, Alicia Keys, and Gabrielle Union promoted actionable ways to demand justice for Breonna Taylor in a new video that spotlights Taylor's mother.

Ju'Niyah, Breonna Taylor's sister, has spoken out after one officer was indicted in connection to the death of her sister. According to Entertainment Tonight, she posted a graduation photo on Instagram with the somber message, "Sister I am so sorry."

She elaborated in an Instagram Story post, which explains that Breonna had worked for a system that inevitably failed her.

"Sister, you was failed by a system you worked hard for and I am so sorry. I love you so so so so so much," she wrote.

Breonna, a 26-year-old EMT, was killed in her home by Louisville Metro Police back in March. Earlier this month, the city of Louisville agreed to pay $12 million to her family as well as institute police reform as part of the family's wrongful death suit.

Though Ju'Niyah is the first family member to issue a statement on the legal proceedings, there have been other groups that have commented, including the NAACP. The organization echoed Ju'Niyah's sentiment, saying that the justice system failed Breonna Taylor.

"The injustice we’re witnessing at this moment can be sensed throughout the nation. Kentucky General Daniel Cameron’s failure to bring substantial charges against the officers who murdered Breonna Taylor causes angst and pain for far too many Americans still reeling from a pandemic," a statement from the NAACP reads, according to CNN. "The charges of wanton endangerment in connection with the murder of Breonna Taylor does not go far enough and is a miscarriage of justice for her family and the people of Louisville. The justice system failed Breonna Taylor and, as such, failed us."
