Brie Larson gives fans 'mermaid vibes' in custom 'wet look' dress

Brie Larson's latest look is serving up serious "mermaid vibes."

On Tuesday, the 32-year-old "Captain Marvel" star shared a set of stunning photos to Instagram, posing in a custom white "wet look" dress by Di Petsa and a pair of mismatched shell earrings by Anita Berisha ($380).

"If you listen closely, you'll hear the ocean in my earrings," she captioned the poolside photoshoot for her more than 6.8 million followers.

Larson's post was met with praise from fans who loved the look and thought the actress resembled a mermaid.

"That's one shell of an outfit!" one Instagram user joked.

"Oh, they’re some pretty earrings! Goes well with the dress!"another said.

"But let’s talk about that dress!" another said of the custom look designed to look as though it's been soaked in water. "Wowza, goddess!"

"That is a really cool dress! It’s super interesting and you look like a mermaid," someone else commented.

"Where did you find the dress? It is splendid!" another added.

While fans can all agree that Larson is "serving looks" in her photos, beauty hasn't always been high on the actress's list of priorities.

In an interview with Allure in March 2021, Larson opened up about how she disliked beauty trends and expectations for most of her life. According to the star, she began to feel interested in beauty again around the time she started training for "Captain Marvel."

"I had rejected it for so long that I could come to it with my own approach, outside of what I felt like was being imposed upon me," Larson said.

The Oscar-winner revealed that she spent her time during the pandemic trying out new makeup looks on her own.

"One of the things I [am] trying to learn how to do in quarantine is a smoky eye, which I did not think was going to be part of my journey, but I love it now," she said. "I love the process of relearning this thing that I was interested in in the past and the transformative aspect of it."
