Burberry revisits roots for SS18 show, while Naomi, Kate and Cara watch on

Burberry is the hottest ticket in town when it comes to London Fashion Week. Editors, bloggers and the Insta-set alike can often only dream of bagging a golden ticket.

And it’s no wonder, as the Brit label never ceases to put on a show and Christopher Bailey certainly made this season one to remember.

Having left Maker’s House behind for a brand spanking new venue, Burberry set up shop (quite literally, thanks to its ‘see now, buy now’ model) at Old Sessions House. And the label drew an A-list crowd, as Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Naomi Campbell sat FROW.

But even the most experienced Burberry show attendees couldn’t have anticipated what happened next. Yes, Christopher Bailey brought back the fashion house’s beloved check.

In a surprising move, the model pack (led by Adwoa Aboah) stepped out in everything from checked sheer cagoules to oversized capes. And it was an eclectic mix, as the famous house check met with laundry-effect prints in the form of trench coats and co-ordinating travel bags.

Burberry devotees will be pleased to learn that military coats made a reappearance too, juxtaposed against tartan trousers and matching socks.

But how did Christopher Bailey complete the Burberry vision this season? The Brit label followed in the footsteps of Paula Knorr and Teatum Jones, as models rocked one (pretty hefty) chandelier-inspired earring. While others, donned the house check cap made famous in recent years by the street style set.

It’s a far cry from last season but the fash pack will be pleased, as not only does it possess more attitude but it’s totally wearable too.
